... is to share some of the snapshots (they are just that - all handheld snapshots) Freda and I have been taking over the last five years or so, with friends and relatives around the world. (That sounds very grand!). It's not meant to be great 'art' or anything, though some are of course :) ... An important point: these are not all Gordon's photographs by any means, in fact the ratio of Freda's shots to mine is approx. 50/50. Many of the best pictures are by Freda, and often we can't remember who took what.
Er ... about the icons (or 'avatars', yuk) that I've used in the banner heading. They represent Bede and Dante, i.e. Freed the historical researcher and Gordon the philosopher-cum-venturer into the underworld (metaphorically speaking); though some may think the term 'sophist', as used on the back of some bottles of Australian wine, would be more appropriate.
Most of the shots have been taken on Freda's 'point and press' Fuji camera, but some, post October 07, have been taken on my Nikon D40.
In 2011 Freda & I were very busy researching the biography of George Stainforth, and the visual gallery for that year will have to be added at a later date.
